Big changes are coming to Element8’s training program!
Starting in January 2026, we’re rolling out a refreshed lineup of classes designed to align with Inductive Automation’s enhanced Ignition curriculum, providing you with a more streamlined, skill-based, and hands-on learning experience.
What’s New in Ignition Training
To better support every stage of your Ignition development journey, the training program is expanding to five classes, grouped into basic and intermediate levels. This ensures you get practical, hands-on training matched to your experience and goals.
Refined Course Structure
Level 1 Course - Core Fundamentals
- Ignition Core (5 days)
Your foundational Ignition training, recommended for anyone preparing for Core Certification. - Intro to Databases & Scripting (4 days)
Learn the fundamentals of SQL queries and essential Python scripting inside Ignition.
Level 2 Courses - Advanced Skills
- Using Databases & Scripting in Projects (4 days)
Apply advanced SQL and Python techniques to build more dynamic, data-driven solutions. - Responsive Design in Perspective (3 days)
Master layout fundamentals, breakpoints, containers, and building responsive UI screens. - CSS in Perspective (2 days)
Deepen your UI expertise with styling, themes, advanced stylesheets, and visual polish.
A More Engaging Learning Experience
We’re enhancing not just the structure, but the learning experience itself.
Hands-on exercises will now be woven throughout each day, not saved for the end, so you can immediately apply what you’ve learned and build practical confidence with each topic.
Additionally, Inductive Automation has updated its certification approach: lab work is no longer included in the certification process.
Both Core and Gold certifications are now earned solely by passing the official tests. This allows class time to focus entirely on developing real-world skill mastery.
- Core Training still includes one free Core test attempt.
- For Gold Certification, we recommend attending the advanced-level courses.
