Level 01 · Registered [Free]
Your starting point – apply in minutes, no obligations
Requirements
- Create your free account on Inductive University using your company or business email address
- Apply via the Inductive Automation integrator portal to become a Registered Partner
- Once registered, book your free Ignition training with Element8 – available exclusively to registered partners
Why your company email matters: Using your business email address links your training record to your company’s partner account. This is what qualifies you for a free Core Certification test credit once your company is enrolled in the partner programme. A personal email will not qualify.
Level 02 · Credentialed [Free]
Engineers complete self-paced learning on Inductive University
Requirements
- Complete Inductive University courses & challenges
- Earn your Ignition credential by completing Inductive University 100%
What you unlock
- A free Core Certification test credit allocated to your account (if your company is a registered Inductive Automation partner)
- Free recertification every 3 years, included automatically

Level 03 · Core Certified [Free]
Put your Ignition knowledge to the test
Requirements
- Complete Level 02 – Credentialed (Inductive University 100%)
- Your free test credit will be allocated to your account once you’re Credentialed and your company is a registered partner
- If you’re not a registered partner, the cost per test is $350 – Element8 can assist with processing via a PO
About the Test
- The test is made up of nine sections – you must pass each section in order to pass overall
- A passing score of 75% is required, though the number of questions you can miss varies between sections
- Once started, the test must be completed within 30 days
Recommended Before You Write
- Join our Level 1 Core Class – free for all registered partners. Designed specifically to prepare you for the Core test and highly recommended for engineers new to Ignition. Book your spot here.
- Work through the official Ignition Study Guide before attempting the test. It covers important sections that appear in the test and is worth reading in full.

Level 04 · Gold Certification [Free]
Advanced proficiency – for engineers who are building serious Ignition projects
Requirements
- Must be Core Certified before attempting Gold
- The Gold test requires advanced proficiency with Ignition, including SQL and Python scripting, in addition to all Ignition design fundamentals
- The test must be submitted within 6 months of purchase
- Cost per test: $500 – Element8 can assist with processing via a PO
Recertification
- Recertification is required every 3 years
- To recertify, you only need to retake and pass the Gold test – you do not need to retake the Core test
