Ignition Edge has more limited functionality than the standard Ignition platform. It doesn’t have database connectivity and only provides 35 days of internal storage for historical data and event logging. Plus, it supports only one tag provider, operates a single Ignition project at a time, and doesn’t support standard Ignition modules.
Both Edge IIoT and Edge Panel offer unlimited tags, device connections, MQTT data publishing, script execution, REST API creation, data synchronisation with a central server, and functioning as an EAM Agent Gateway. The Edge Panel also includes local visualisation and control features, perfect for local HMIs or remote systems. It supports Perspective (2 sessions) or Vision (1 local client, one remote client). Edge IIoT does not offer visualisation capabilities.
