Groups of 10 or more can request private training. Customers may also qualify for free training through the Customer Enablement Program, depending on the licenses they own. 

Training FAQs

  • As of October 2025, Ignition certification is earned by passing Inductive Automation’s official Core or Gold
  • When you complete a Level 1: Core training class through Element8, you’ll receive one free Core test attempt, valid for one year.
  • You can access study guides and purchase tests directly from Inductive Automation.

Yes. Individuals within organisations participating in the Integrator Program are eligible for several free certification benefits:

  • A free Core Certification test is awarded once an individual earns an Ignition Credential from Inductive University.
  • A free Core recertification test is provided each time recertification is required.
  • Certified and Gold Integrators receive one free Gold Certification test credit for every five individuals in their organisation who achieve Core Certification.
  • Premier Integrators automatically receive two free Gold test credits and two recertifications every quarter.
  • Credits do not accumulate.

The Core test can take up to 25 hours if the maximum amount of time for each section is used. It is possible to complete the test in a shorter amount of time. Each of the 9 sections on the test has a time limit that varies between 2 and 4 hours. A section must be completed once started, but different sections can be completed at different times. You are given 30 days to complete all 9 sections. Learn more here.

  • We offer private training both on-site and at Element8. Groups of 10 or more may request private training.
  • Customers may also qualify for free training through the Customer Enablement Program, depending on the licenses they own. Contact: training@element8.co.za

Payment must be made 7 business days prior to the commencement of training. Unpaid invoices past this deadline may result in your seat being released.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled training, please notify us as early as possible at training@element8.co.za.

  • We will assist you in transferring to another session, based on availability.
  • Training seats expire one (1) year after purchase if unused.
  • Certification lasts three years from the date it is earned.
  • There is no annual fee, but you must pass the appropriate recertification test before your certificate expires.
  • If you hold a valid Gold Certification, you may renew at the Gold level without retaking Core.
  • If you’ve recently completed a Gold test, a renewal test will be available before your current certificate expires.
  • An Inductive University (IU) Credential is awarded after completing free online training at Inductive University. It demonstrates your knowledge and supports progress within the Integrator Program.
  • Ignition Certification (Core or Gold) is earned only by passing a certification exam. It establishes you as an Ignition expert and is required for integrators seeking Certified, Gold, or Premier status.

If you leave a training session early, you may request any physical materials (such as manuals or lab work) that were provided. However,

no refunds, transfers, or free certification test attempts

will be issued for partial attendance.

  • International attendees: Credit/debit card payments via Payfast (a payment link will be shared upon booking).
  • South Africa: Invoice payment (per due date)

Standard Cancellation Window
Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing via email to
training@element8.co.za at least 7 days before the course start date.

Late Cancellations (Within 7 Days of Start Date)
Cancellations received within 7 days of the start date will be charged the full course fee.

No-Shows
If you do not attend the course and have not provided written notice, you will be responsible for the full course fee.

Refunds

  • Refund requests must be submitted at least 7 business days before the course start date.
  • Card payments are subject to standard transaction fees (approximately 6%).
  • Unused training seats expire one (1) year after purchase.

Element8 reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any class if minimum enrollment is not met or for other operational reasons.

If Element8 cancels a training course:

  • You may request a full refund, or
  • Receive credit toward a future training course

Whenever possible, attendees will be notified at least 7 days before the scheduled start date.
